Since this was the first time I traveled for the first time, it was nerve-wracking to be alone across the country but good thing I’m back home in the Philippines! Anyways, when I got off in the Manila, it was almost 11 in the evening with the side of jet lag with no hope of waiting for my ride because I waited for almost an hour… Suddenly, there was this one guy who didn’t really look Filipino saying, “Are you Elder Villaverde?”, I had a glimpse of hope that somebody finally found me and hearing someone say “Elder Villaverde” feels so surreal to me, like something that felt off but it was actually something that I was called to be by the Lord. He worked for the MTC to give rides to those who were missionaries from foreign countries and was also finding for another missionary who also landed at the same time as me. When we found the fellow missionary, we went to a hotel for a place to stay before the MTC started by tomorrow morning. I felt a sigh of relief knowing that I prayed and hoped that I had safe trip to the Philippines due to connecting flights.

So, where were we? Right! MTC. When I first arrived in the MTC, I saw many people who had their fitness clothes on for P-Day and others who had their proselyting clothes on. I said to myself, “Wow, so this is the missionary training center (MTC), I’m finally here to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ with so many wonderful people to meet across many countries.” This moment felt like it was a turning point that I needed to be more diligent and have more faith in Jesus Christ because I was sent here for a purpose to serve. In my first few days, I have been doing well so far in my journey here in the MTC, met wonderful missionaries who have been learning Cebuano in my district and roommates to talk with who can relate to what I’ve experienced. This has been a blessed opportunity for me to be here with “mga kauban nako”, to gain stronger testimonies, and to learn more what it’s like to become a missoonary work. I know I’m only starting my journey as a missionary who looks forward to learning new things and adjusting to different habits that I’ve been used to.

In D&C 4: 2, it says, “Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at ths last day.” This verse had a meaning to my life that I want to reflect on since it was my purpose to be as full-time missionary of the Lord. I’m loving this already, meeting friends who share testimonies that give meaning to others, and also having fun while learning more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. And yeah, that’s it for today’s letter guys!

Amping mo tanan!!!

https://photos.app.goo.gl/FnJzSiuZ9NYwL5H26

Maayong buntag sa tanan!
