Ó Canadá (Seth’s Weekly Jan 29th)

February 5, 2024

Bom dia querido Irmãos e Irmãs,

Tá tudo bem convosco? Se a resposta for não, epa. Espero que coisas fiquem melhores.

So yeah this past week was pretty crazy, we had tranfers and an exchange. I know it doesn’t sound like that much, but it was pretty crazy. My new companion is Elder Martin and he’s from Canada too. I never thought I would ever serve with another Canadian because there are 3 Elders in the entire mission that are from Canada.

So a cool thing that happened this past week was service. So for those who don’t know our house in Queluz is on a very steep and massive hill, with the train station at the bottom. So there are tons of people walking up and down this hill everyday. As we were running up this hill to get to a meeting, we saw an older lady carrying this huge bags. So we stopped and helped. Turns out she is from Angola and she loves learning about Jesus Christ. We carryed her stuff up the hill and to her house and gave her a Book of Mormon explaining that it teachs us more about Christ. This was thursday and she told us to come back on Sunday. Wehn we passed by on Sunday she showed us that she had already read 15 chapters (including the introduction and testimonies)!! She said that she woke up at 5 am every day so she could read before she has to go to work! Also her cousin was totally interested too, he was asking awesome questions about the scriptures and everything. Twas a miracle.

All the best,

Elder Vermeeren
